This is a new series of articles we aim to publish every week, compiling information about price fluctuations and events that might have affected the price of the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the market.
This week, the top 10 coins (merely in terms of price) closing on Friday were:
Bitcoin: $3,421.56, with +0.36% change from yesterday and -4.57% from last week.
Bitcoin Cash: $114.45, with +1.40% change from yesterday and -12.25% from last week.
Ethereum: $105.28, with -0.16% change from yesterday and -9.18% from last week.
DigitalCash: $65.51, with -1.04% change from yesterday and -11.50% from last week.
ZCash: $47.49, with -1.36% change from yesterday and -12.20% from last week.
Monero: $42.60, with +0.49% change from yesterday and -7.69% from last week.
Litecoin: $32.02, with +2.98% change from yesterday and -2.68% from last week.
Bitcoin Gold: $9.68, with +1.11% change from yesterday and -15.01% from last week.
Neo: $6.86, with +0.46% change from yesterday and -12.16% from last week.
Ethereum Classic: $3.85, with -0.87% change from yesterday and -11.90% from last week.
Overall, the top 10 coins have dropped an average of 9.904% since last week. There is certain difficulty in determining the factors responsible for this market-wide drop, but some analysts speculate on the release of new, customer-oriented tokens associated with different platforms and new regulatory measurements coming into force in 2019 (in China and Europe, for example).
Next week, we’ll begin another series of monthly forecasts of currency prices, along with a similar compilation to this one.
